Kelsey M. Guinipero is a highly accomplished lyric coloratura soprano, choral conductor, and pianist, celebrated for her exceptional talent and unwavering commitment to musical excellence. With a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Western Connecticut State University, Kelsey's journey began at the Family Music Center, where she cultivated her skills through piano and voice lessons.
In addition to her performance career, Kelsey has made significant contributions to music education, serving as a Substitute Piano & Voice Teacher at the Family Music Center and founding a traveling studio to make music more accessible, especially in the wake of the pandemic.
As an accomplished choir conductor, Kelsey has served as an Assistant Conductor in WCSU's Concert Chorale and University Singers, honing her skills in ensemble direction and musical interpretation. Her dedication to choral artistry was further enriched by participating in a conducting masterclass with Dr. Douma at Yale University, where she refined her conducting technique and deepened her understanding of choral repertoire and performance.
Kelsey's talent has garnered prestigious awards, including the 1st Place Winner of CT NATS Lower College Vocalist in 2022, the 1st Prize Winner of the International Music Competition ‘Salzburg & Barcelona’ Grand Prize Virtuoso in 2023, and the 1st place winner of CT NATS Upper College Vocalist in 2024.
With a diverse repertoire and notable performances at venues like Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, Kelsey continues to pursue excellence in her craft. Guided by esteemed mentors and instructors, she remains dedicated to her artistic journey and sharing the transformative power of music with others.
